Enjoy a day of whisky and waterfalls on a small-group day trip from Edinburgh, led by a friendly local guide! After a stop in Falkirk to see the Kelpies, travel through the Scottish Highlands, passing alongside Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Stop at the Famous Grouse whisky distillery for lunch and a tour (both payable at own expense) and, after sampling a wee dram of whisky, continue to the Hermitage, a natural beauty spot that’s home to the impressive Black Linn Falls.

This day trip from Edinburgh offers stunning views over the highlands and lochs of Scotland. This tour offers some stunning scenery and plenty of photo opportunities as we 'get away from civilisation'. Travelling through glendevon, the sma' Glen, Glen Quaich and The Trossachs all of which have their own unique landscapes. Our first stop of the day is at Doune Castle, a 15th century keep. The castle is full of history and has been used in many TV and film productions including Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Outlander and Game of Thrones. We'll stop for lunch at the picturesque highland village of Kenmore at the eastern end of Loch Tay. Whitewash cottages make way to a sandy beach and loch view. Our last stop of the day is a visit Glenturret whisky distillery where you'll learn how they make the 'water of life' before sampling a few drams.

Combine Scotland's greatest export with our most infamous castle and the medieval ruins of Mary Queen of Scot's fabulous palace. The Highland distillery tour and tasting is usually the fantastic Deanston distillery or the wonderful Tullibardine distillery. An excellent value tour!

Drink whisky straight out of the cask and learn how the wood influences the whisky colour and flavouring. After a fun filled day of whisky, scenery and a castle we then return to Edinburgh.

This is one of our favourite day trips from Edinburgh that covers most things visitors wish to experience in one day. Castles, Lochs, Rivers, Glens, woodland walks and whisky. Oh and maybe even a legendary hairy Highland cow. On the spectacular scenic drive you will be able to relax and listen to Scottish music on the sound system.
